Why You’re Not Losing F-A-T

A quick google search can tell you just about anything these days.  Matter of fact, it won’t take you long to learn that the diet and weight loss industry is now worth a staggering $72,000,000,000.  That’s BILLION.

Here lies the problem.  This industry only cares about one thing (aside from cashing in on your struggles) and that’s your weight, NOT your fat.

You see, we’ve come to accept that dieting is the solution to many of our problems.  Weight watchers, shakeology, etc, all have some pretty great promises on the surface.  Lose weight and get your skinny jeans back on.

And then what?  Why does it seem that every time we stop dieting, we gain all the weight back?

What’s interesting is that most people don’t completely revert back to how they were eating before once they’ve hit their goal weight.  We actually hear often, “I follow the plan Monday through Friday, and then let loose a little bit on the weekend.”

So, is it really THAT detrimental to slip up on the weekend that it’s going to cause you to gain all your weight back?  The short answer is no.  The longer answer is that it’s dependent on what you’re ACTUALLY doing during the week.

Dieting doesn’t work because it’s hyper focused on helping you lose weight and many times that means at all costs.  To keep it simplistic, think of your body like this.  We’re made up of water, fat, and lean muscle mass.  Yes, we know there’s more to it, but bear with us for the sake of the article.

Now, your body doesn’t NEED muscle.  So unless you’re actively giving it a reason to stick around, it won’t.  The concern here is that your muscle is the driving factor in your metabolism.  So every pound of it that you have is critical for your fat burning abilities.

So, if you followed a diet that was so calorically depleted (like most are) and you lost 10 lbs in 10 days, but 8 lbs of it was muscle, you just effectively slowed down your metabolism and THAT is why diets don’t work. THAT is why it’s so easy to gain it all back and then some.

The only way to truly and positively influence your metabolism is to eat a balanced and portioned meal plan that will give your body the micro and macro nutrients it needs to build muscle and burn fat.

You need to be diligent about losing FAT, and trust that weight loss is merely a byproduct and not the focus.

It’s funny when we hear it, but many people who follow our nutrition plan actually share with us that they’re eating TOO much food.  They are practically saying it at the same time as we’re taking their measurements and showing them how many inches they’ve lost in their belly, hips, bust, etc.

At RECOUP, helping people change their lives, learning how to do it on their own, and having success long after they’re done working with us is the reason why we do what we do.

There is no goal too big or small and it’s never too late to get started.  We encourage you to do your own research and find what works for you.

Conversely, join the thousands we’ve helped before you and let’s share your success with the world.
