A Common Question We Often Hear

Q: “What are the top foods I can eat for more energy?”

A: It really boils down to this: a healthy balanced, energy-boosting diet is focused on whole foods such as fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, and healthy fats.

If you can barely keep your eyes open during the workday or have a tough time making it through that dreaded afternoon slump, it might be time to rethink your diet. Instead of popping open a sugary, energy drink or pouring yet another cup of coffee… load up on these nutrient-rich, energy-sustaining foods that give you energy to keep you going all day long.

Here are some quick ideas that will make you feel more energized throughout the day:

  • Premade energy balls- You can purchase premade energy balls online or at your local food store without sacrificing taste or nutritional value. An excellent option would be the Daily Harvest Energy Bites. These are a perfect blend of nutrient-dense, whole food ingredients that will help keep you full until your next meal.

  • Turkey sticks and fresh fruit- Pairing these protein-packed snacking sticks with an apple, berries or grapes provides even more energy thanks to the fiber in the fruit.

  • Canned salmon, avocado, and crackers- Salmon is loaded with nutrients, including protein, omega-3 fats, selenium, and B vitamins. Avocados and crackers provide an excellent source of fiber.

  • Cottage cheese- Mix cottage cheese with berries, hemp seeds, and dark chocolate for a sweet version, or top with everything but the bagel seasoning for a more savory taste.

  • Espresso overnight oats- It’s packed with fiber from the oats, healthy fats, and protein from the Greek yogurt and almond butter. (Click the link “Espresso overnight oats” to get the recipe! :-) )

The convenience of these healthy and quick snacks will help curb those sugar cravings and leave you feeling way more energized and present throughout the day.

One of the best ways to stay feeling energized and full throughout the day is by eating at regular intervals. A good rule of thumb is to eat every 3-4 hours so your body has enough time to break down its last meal. The bonus of it all… once your body finishes digesting your meal, it will begin to break down your fat molecules for more energy! Pretty awesome, right?

These snacks are a great start, but we know that if you've made it this far, then you are really ready to take control of your energy levels and nutrition habits..

…which is why we want to provide you with our FREE one dish recipe ebook! This eBook is intended to be family-friendly and could be utilized to meal prep for the week ahead. (Click the link to be redirected to your new favorite eBook ;-) )
