The Shake is Back !

It’s that time of year again, the McDonald’s Shamrock milkshake has come back for its annual haunting of all those sweet tooths out there. For such a small cup it sure packs a lot… of SUGAR!

Simple changes can make a big difference. Still enjoy your sweets, but in a healthier and better way.

A small McDonald’s Shamrock shake is 500 calories, 14 grams of Fat, and 82 grams of Carbs. Don’t even get us started on the Large size.

For those of you looking for a healthy, but just as tasty alternative.. We got it for you! 

This shake is only 175 Calories, 5 grams of Fat, 7.8 grams of Carbs, and 25.5g of Protein. (amounts may differ with substitutions and different protein powders.)

Mint Protein Shake

Serves:1         Time : 5 Minutes

  • 2 cups of ice
  • 1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 handful of Spinach
  • 1 scoop of Vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure peppermint extract
  • pinch of salt

Directions:

Throw all ingredients into the blender until completely smooth. For the choice of a Mint Chocolate Chip smoothie you may add  a couple of chocolate chips to the mixture.

For a thicker, more rich flavor you can substitute the Almond milk for canned coconut milk.

Enjoy your shake year round!
